Family Law

Pond Marsh Solicitors recognise that relationships are not always as successful as we would want. When a relationship breaks down it is often the case that both parties have either shared assets or children. In these circumstances, decisions are never easy to make, and can lead to disagreements between those involved.

We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, and many factors have to be considered in determining the right result. Whatever your individual circumstances, you can be sure that the advice and assistance we offer will be the best for you.

We aim to solve your problem quickly and as efficiently as we can. We will handle your problem in a confidential and sympathetic manner and give you appropriate advice. We will always try to resolve your case amicably without recourse to court. However, if court proceedings are necessary we will provide you with robust but appropriate representation to protect your interests.

Please contact Pond Marsh Solicitors for specialist advice if you would like to discuss:

  • Care proceedings and Adoption
  • Change of Name
  • Child Arrangements (including with whom a child should live and have contact with), Parental Responsibility and Change of Name
  • Divorce, Separation and the Breakdown of Relationships
  • Financial Implications of Divorce and the Breakdown of Relationships
  • Mediation

We can help any family member whether you are a parent, grandparent, other relative or friend.

We at Pond Marsh conduct cases in a constructive and non confrontational way. We show respect for family life and everyone involved in the process. We take into account the long term consequences of actions taken in the case as well as short term implications. We balance the benefits of steps taken against the likely cost whether financial or emotional. We handle our cases in an appropriate but proportionate manner.

If you wish to take or defend proceedings, you may be eligible for Legal Help or Public Funding. This means that you may be entitled to receive public funding to help cover the costs of your case. Legal Help is something we would offer you at the first meeting if it is available. However, it is necessary for you to bring proof of your income and any partner that you have for the last calendar month preceding the appointment to the meeting if you wish us to assess your eligibility for Legal Help.

If you are not eligible for Legal Help then we will offer you a substantial discount on the cost of the first appointment and will give you clear, jargon free advice with regard to the law and procedure. We do offer client’s fixed fees or in complicated cases, a cost structure which is tailored to your particular circumstances.
